Peter Newman

Professor Peter Newman is Professor of Sustainability at Curtin University, Australia. He was on the Board of Infrastructure Australia and is a lead author for Transport on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He has written 20 books on sustainability, has been an advisor on several governmental sustainability programs and in 2014 he was awarded an Order of Australia for his contributions to urban design and sustainable transport.

On 15 August 2018 Professor Peter Newman was named Scientist of the Year at the 2018 Western Australian Premier’s Science Awards. He was named as winner for his commitment in the science of cities and their sustainability and his outstanding scientific research and engagement.
