Asif Iqbal Siddiqui

Asif Iqbal Siddiqui is an economist with specialization in development and environmental economics and sustainable investment. Over the last 23 years he has been working on what would be phrased today as business case for sustainable development. In 1997 he joined the World Bank – IUCN Green Accounting Initiative as an Environmental Economist with the aim to establish the economic rationale for environmental sustainability. Since then he has used economic valuation of social and environmental impacts for promoting sustainable development policies while working with academia, NGOs and think-tanks in Singapore, Australia, Indonesia and Bangladesh.

He is currently an adjunct academic at the Curtin University Sustainability Policy (CUSP) Institute (Australia) and a Visiting Scholar at the Economic Growth Centre (EGC), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). At the same time, he manages a Singapore-based consulting firm called Circular Economics Pty Ltd which manages projects on SDG localization in Australasia with the relevant government agencies, academia and industries. It also offers consultations on GRI and SDG reporting to private and public sector organizations.
